Susan MarshallThis is Susan Marshall. She is a proud mother and grandmother from Fort Frances, Ontario, who enjoys gardening, swimming and spending time with family. She has been an influential and vocal community advocate for people with mental illnesses. Susan also lives with bipolar disorder. She was officially diagnosed during her twenties, but lived with the illness long before that. With the support of her family, peer support group, colleagues and counsellor, Susan has dedicated herself to fighting the stigma that is associated with mental illness. She is sharing her story because she wants to let others know that recovery is possible and that they don’t need to suffer in silence like she did. FACE IT. Mental illness concerns us all.
